Adventures is a multiplayer game mode in which you can participate only with your guildmates.
You get access to Adventures once you reach team level 40. Players can get to the Adventures through the Sanctuary, which is located in the Celestial City.
Or by clicking on the Adventures icon over the Guild menu.
Each adventure is a map filled with enemy teams corrupted by the Army of Chaos. The main goal is to defeat a Boss, protected by the corrupted teams. Right now there are 13 Adventures in the game.
Adventures can be completed by a group of up to 3 players. A group is supposed to communicate with each other and decide which pass each player takes. Easier maps can be completed solo or by a group of two, but one player can never get all the possible rewards.
To start an adventure, you’ll need 1 Portal Charge. They refill automatically every day, up to 3 max. Once you start an Adventure, you get a limited amount of Action Points. Their number depends on the size of the map, and you spend them by moving or attacking.
Types of Units:
- Squads. A Squad Unit contains enemies that you have to defeat to progress further.
- Towers. Tower Units focus their beams on Squads or on a Boss, providing a powerful buff. Like any Squads, Towers contain enemies, and in order to destroy the Tower and remove the buff, you must defeat an enemy team.
- Altars of Power. This unit allows you to choose one out of three buffs for your team. Note that one player can choose only one buff!
- Boss. The main opponent of any map. This is your goal!
Buffs of the Day
Each adventure has Buffs of the Day, which change daily and affect all teams, including enemies. These Buffs enhance heroes with specific roles and can grant you bonuses like: energy gain, increased stats, reduced skill cooldown, etc. You can see Buffs of the Day before you enter an adventure.
Completing adventures grants you various resources to summon and upgrade Pets. Each adventure has three regular chests and one Boss chest to open. To unlock these chests, you need to defeat enemies and earn Team Points. Each victory grants 20 Team Points to your group. Earn more Team Points to open more chests! To open a Boss chest, all you need to do is defeat a Boss.
Chests contain the following resources:
- Pet Potions. Needed for leveling up your pets.
- Chaos Particles. Needed for purchasing and leveling up pets’ Stones.
- Stones. Serve as pets’ gear.
- Pet Summoning Eggs. Needed for gaining pet Soul Stones.
Pets are rare creatures that can directly influence the course of the battle. You can use them in all game modes where your Heroes are eligible. There is a special sixth slot for a pet when you assemble your team.
Pets can’t be attacked or killed. During the battle Pets also gain Energy to use their Ultimate Skills, but unlike Heroes, they gain Energy with time at a stable rate that cannot be affected.
To make a specific Hero stronger, you can assign a Pet as their Patron. The Patron Pet gives bonus stats and grants an additional Patronage Skill to a Hero. Later you can always change this Hero, if you want!
Patronage effects work even if a patron pet does not take part in a fight. This way, each hero in your team can have their patron pets.
To become a patron, a pet must reach the Blue rank, while his Patronage skill becomes available on the Violet rank.
Does Fenris’s blinding skill (Helpless Target) affect Keira’s ricochet (passive “Dancing Blades” skill)?
Does a hero get the effects of patronage if that hero’s pet does not participate in the fight?
A hero does get the patronage effects in this case.
How do I quit an adventure?
Once a team gains all Team Points or spends all Action Points, you will see a green button “End the Adventure”.
You can also quit before that, through the Log menu. But once you do that, you won’t be able to return to the group you abandoned, and the Portal Charge you spent to enter the group will be lost.
To visit other game modes while adventuring, just hit the “X” button in the top right corner of the game screen. Your Adventure progress won’t be lost, and you will be able to finish it later.
How do the Portal Charges accumulate?
You get 1 Portal Charge when a new guild activity day begins - the timing is the same as with Tournament of the Elements. Meaning at 5:00 AM GMT+0 (Facebook) and at 5:00 AM GMT+3 for other social networks (VKontakte, standalone Web version, and all others). Mind you though, that if you have 3 or more Portal Charges, you will not get it.
How do pet stats work?
Pets have 3 types of stats: Patronage Power, Skill Power, and Armor or Magic Penetration. All the stats are improved by increasing pets’ level and by leveling up pets’ Stones.
Skill Power and Patronage Power are unique Pet Stats, which increase pets’ skills potency and pet’s patronage skill potency respectively. Also, upgrading Patronage power grants more stats to the patron’s hero.
Armor Penetration and Magic Penetration allows pets to deal more damage to enemy heroes by ignoring a portion of their armor or magic resistance respectively.
“But what about Oliver? He specializes in healing and still has the penetration stat”. Thing is, Oliver gets this stat automatically with the Skill Power and Patronage Power when his Stones are upgraded.
How does Merlin’s Patronage Skill work?
Merlin speeds up those skills that deal with magic damage directly. The cooldown timer on these skills becomes shorter. This does not include the first (so-called Ultimate) skill, only the green, blue or purple ones. It does help you generate more energy indirectly, though: by using their skills more often, heroes gain energy faster, so they will be able to use their Ultimate skill earlier.
